RATES
My basic hourly rates vary between domestic and international helicopters. Domestic helicopters are considered any N registered aircraft located within the US. For international travel, you will be expected to supply me with an appropriately certificated mechanic to sign off the work and make sure it's being performed per your country's aviation regulations. You will need to cover flight and lodging. I will take care of ground transportation and any other costs. I do not charge for days spent traveling.
Overhauls: For R22 and R44 helicopters, Robinson Helicopter Company quotes 200 hours start to finish, and that's with an assembly style overhaul. That comes to a total of $75/hr for domestic overhauls and $100/hr for international. That's much less than you can expect to spend sending it elsewhere, and I'm willing to come to you. The overhaul is my only priority, and it will be completed in a timely fashion. Any Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, or airframe repairs made on top of the basic overhaul I will charge the basic hourly rate. The overhaul expense includes an annual inspection signoff if it's a US registered aircraft. You will be expected to have a minimum supply of tooling, space, ladders, etc, and you will be responsible for NDT of the frames and skids. I will need one person, supplied by you, to assist with tasks at least half of the time. A passing knowledge of basic maintenance techniques is all I require. If you are unable to supply a helper, I can provide one for an additional fee. Please see my Facility Expectations page for more details.
Annual Inspections- This includes AD research if you don't already have a sufficient AD tracking program.
Pre-Purchase Inspections-Includes a full report of discrepancies, and an estimated cost to repair. All work is subject to availability. Please contact me with any questions.
